The summer months are full of activities from sports to vacations. Do you ever wonder how to stay healthy while juggling all of the activities? Well it's not always easy but here are some ways to make it easier on you.
Meal Prep

One of my favorite ways to stay healthy is meal prepping. I usually take one day a week and make lunches and snacks to take when I know I'm going to be out of the house. Prepping your food at the begining of the week makes it easier to say no to fast food. Instead of waking up and not having time in the morning to make a lunch to take with you, you can just grab one out of the fridge. No more need for fast food. Something as simple as dried fruit for a snack or a protein shake if I'm going to be somewhere I can keep it cool.
Lunches I try to make sure I have some carbs and protein. Quinoa salad made with quinoa, chicken, avacado, tomatoes, and mayonaise is a good option. You can make a big batch at the begining of the week and it's pretty easy to transport. Don't forget your fork with this one.
Drink Water

Water is vital for our bodies to function properly. Without water you will see your energy tank and concentrating will become dificult. Everyone should be drinking an ounce of water for evey two pounds that you weigh. For example I weigh 130 lbs so I should be drinking aprox. 87 ounces of water a day. It is really important to get enough water as the days get hotter. Your body will sweat out alot of that water and get rid of toxins in the process. Drinking enough water will help regulate your body temprature, aid digestion, and help your brain out. If you dont love plain water you can add cucumber or lemon to it for a tasty drink that still has all the benefits.
Go For A Walk

There are countless benefits to walking. Walking for 20 minutes a day can inprove heart and brain health as well as release endorphins which are your happy hormone. Endorphins not only make you happy but can improve brain function. Going for a walk outdoors in the fresh air you will soak up vitamin d from the sun and see countless beauties God has given us outside. Grab a friend to walk with and enjoy some time chatting and getting healthier together.
There are countless ways to stay healthy in the summer months and these are just a few of them. remember to stay hydrated in the heat and always have a smile.
