How To Stay Motivated During The Holidays

The Christmas season comes with a to do list that never ends. Getting a workout done on the busy days can seem impossible, let alone wanting to do that workout. With all the cookies and delicious food that will be eaten during the holidays it can seem like the workout is pointless. It for sure is not pointless even with all of the extra delicious calories you're going to be eating. Here's some tips to

Here are some tips to keep you motivated and sticking to your exercise routine during the Christmas season.

1 - Even a small workout counts

It may not seem like a 10 minute workout will make a difference but it does. Not every workout you do has to be an hour long. Moving your body intentionally every day, even for 10 minutes, will keep your muscle memory and your muscles growing. They won't grow quite as fast but they will grow. Doing 10 push-ups and 10 squats is a full body workout that will take about 10 minutes to complete.

2 - Remember why you started

When you started your fitness journey, you had an end goal in mind. That goal might be to lose wight or run a 5k. By keeping that goal in mind, it will remind you how import your exercise routine is and why you started. Picture the end goal and keep working toward it. With a little work every day you will make it to that end goal. Small consistent efforts add up to big results.

3 - Find a workout buddy

Having a workout buddy can be helpful in many ways. Having someone to cheer for you and keep you on track, that can also chalenge you to try new things is very helpful in staying on track. You can chalenge each other to try new things that might be out of your comfort zone. Working out is always more fun with a friend, even if its just going for a walk.

4 - Hire a personal trainer

If what you need is someone to keep you accountable a personal trainer might be the best option for you. Personal trainers are there to help you spot the future hurdles that can get in the way of you staying motivated. We help you find a plan to overcome those possible rough spots and create an exercise plan that fits into your schedule, while staying on track with your goals.

5 - Have fun

The Christmas season can be a stressful time without making your workout part of that. Have fun with your workouts. Don't be afraid to try new things but don't push yourself to hard. You should never dread your next workout. If you find yourself dreading your workouts it may be that they are to intense or not the right exercises. This can cause you to lose motivation quickly and get discouraged from working out. Find a professional that will work with you to plan an exercise routine that gets you to your goals but you also love doing. That also doesn't mean that you won't have days that you don't want to workout, we're all human.

Let's get moving together

Those are some of my favorite ways to stay motivated during the busy Christmas season. Most importantly have fun with your workouts. Grab a friend for a walk or chalenge them to a workout routine. Hire a personal trainer to help plan a workout routine to hit your goals and cheer for you every step of the way. Try a free, hour long one-on-one training session to see if a personal trainer is the best fit for you.
